Man airlifted to hospital after nasty motorbike crash on North Stradbroke

A man has been seriously injured after crashing his motorbike into a tree stump on North Stradbroke Island.

The accident happened on a track just off Main Beach around 10.45pm on Saturday.

Paramedics, including Critical Care paramedics rushed to the island to help treat the man in his 20s.

He was suffering chest, lower back and pelvic injuries.

Paramedics called for the Rescue Helicopter to assist before the man was then airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The man is now in a stable condition.

Investigations into the accident are continuing.
