Man airlifted to hospital after being hit by his own truck

A man has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by his own truck on the NSW Central Coast.

Police say the accident occurred around 7.45am Tuesday when the truck stopped on Warnervale Road, Warnervale due to mechanical issues.

The driver, a 46-year-old man, got out to investigate and was underneath the truck when it rolled back and hit him.

He was treated at the scene by Paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Investigations are continuing.
