Man airlifted to Gold Coast hospital after truck and car crash

A man has been airlifted to hospital following a nasty truck and car crash in the Tweed on Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened on Clothiers Creek Road at Clothiers Creek, when the two vehicles collided around 3.30pm.

Several emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports the driver of the car was trapped behind the wheel.

They worked to free the man, believed to be aged in his 70s, who was rescued a short time later and treated on scene by paramedics.

The rescue chopper was later called in, with the man flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
