Man allegedly caught with child abuse material at Sydney railway station

A MAN has been charged after he was allegedly caught with child abuse material and a knife at a train station in Sydney’s west.

About 3.30pm yesterday, officers from Police Transport Command were patrolling Granville Railway Station when they stopped a man who was allegedly trying to leave the station without a ticket.

Following inquiries, a 55-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.


He was charged with travel or attempt travel without valid ticket, custody of knife in public place, breach of bail, and possess child abuse material.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today.
