Man allegedly livestreamed assault of woman to gaming site

A MAN has been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman, believed to be his partner, during a livestream on an online gaming site.

NSW police launched investigations after a witness reported the alleged domestic violence assault, which is understood to have been livestreamed about 8.30pm on Sunday.

Police say two young girls, aged three and 20 months, were in the home at the time and allegedly witnessed the assault.

A 26-year-old man was taken into custody by police at a house in Oran Park about 11.30pm last night.

He was charged with common assault and granted conditional bail to appear in Camden Local Court this Thursday.

While the 21-year-old woman was not seriously injured, police say she was distressed and shaken by the incident.

An apprehended violence order has been served.

It’s understood the man’s gaming account has also been deleted.
