A young man has been brutally bashed over the head with his own skateboard during a savage attack in Sydney’s inner-west.
Police said the 18-year-old victim was walking along Brighton Street when he was bailed up by a group of teens on Railway Parade around 11.30pm last night.
The man, who police said was carrying a skateboard at the time, was approached by two males from the group who allegedly punched him several times and assaulted him with his skateboard.

The group then fled the scene.
The 18-year-old declined medical treatment at the time, but reportedly suffered bruising and lacerations to his head.
Police were called and officers arrested a 17-year-old boy nearby.
He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.
The teen was refused bail to appear before a children’s court today.
