Man ambushed, bashed with bat and robbed in random street attack

A MAN has been ambushed, bashed with a bat and robbed by a group of men on a busy road in Brisbane.

The 20-year-old victim was walking along Logan Road at Upper Mount Gravatt when he was set upon between McDonald’s and Klumpp Road about 7.30pm last night.

Police said five men demanded cash from the 20-year-old, before punching him and belting him with a baseball bat.


The group, who had clothing wrapped around their faces, then fled the scene with money from the young man’s wallet.

The victim was transported to hospital to the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Detectives are investigating the violent attack and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist police to come forward.
