A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged over the alleged knifepoint robbery of a man at West Burleigh.
Police said the 27-year-old victim was sitting in his car on Tallebudgera Creek Road around 4.15am on Thursday when the 20-year-old man from Coolangatta jumped in the car wielding a large knife.
The armed man allegedly stole a laptop, before a second man allegedly snatched the man’s mobile phone.

Although left shaken after the frightening encounter, thankfully the victim was not physically injured.
Around 1.50am on Friday, police received a tip-off from a member of the public that led them to the Burleigh Town Tavern on Township Drive where the two men were located.
The 20-year-old was arrested and has since been charged with one count each of armed robbery, possessing drug utensils and possessing a knife in a public place and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
He is due to face Southport Magistrate’s Court today.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
