Man and woman charged over brutal stabbing in Sydney

A man and woman have been charged over a brutal stabbing in Surry Hills overnight.

About 10.20pm, emergency services were called to Belvoir Street, Surry Hills, following reports of an injured man lying in the driveway of an apartment block.

A 43-year-old man was treated at the scene, before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment of a number of stab wounds to his neck.


Following investigations, a man and a woman were arrested in a unit of the apartment block and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

A 43-year-old man was charged with cause wounding / grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.

A 44-year-old woman was charged with affray and common assault.

Both were refused bail to appear before Central Local Court later today.
