Man and woman charged with breaking into home twice, threatening victim with gun

A man and a woman have been charged following two alleged break-ins at the same residence in the state’s Central West yesterday.

About 5pm (Sunday 13 September 2015), a man attended a home on Alcheringa Street, Dubbo, allegedly armed with a firearm, and threatened the 57-year-old male resident, demanding cash.

The man allegedly assaulted the resident before leaving the home.


About 5.20pm, the same armed man allegedly returned to the home with a woman, and the pair damaged property, before threatening the 57-year-old man.

The pair took cash from the man’s wallet and ran from the location.

Police from Orana Local Area Command and Ambulance paramedics were called to the location and the 57-year-old man was treated for facial and hand injuries.

The man and the woman were arrested separately a short time later and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

The 40-year-old man was charged with two counts of special break, enter and commit serious indictable offence, and firearm and drug offences.

The 31-year-old woman was charged with special break, enter and commit serious indictable offence.

The pair has been refused bail and due to appear at Dubbo Local Court later today (Monday 14 September 2015).
