UPDATE: A WOMAN has been confirmed dead after a horrifying shooting on the Gold Coast this morning.
Emergency services rushed to McDonalds on Siganto Drive at Helensvale just after 9.15am following reports of a shooting.
On arrival, they found a 57-year-old man and 49-year-old woman, who are known to each other, with gunshot wounds .

It’s alleged the man chased the woman into the fast-food restaurant, shooting her in the head, before shooting himself in the head.
Paramedics spent an hour at the scene trying to revive the woman, however sadly she passed away.
The man is in Gold Coast University Hospital with a critical self inflicted gunshot wound to the head, he is not expected to live.
It has been revealed that the woman reportedly moved to the Gold Coast from Maryborough just a month ago for a ‘fresh start’ after ending her relationship.
EARLIER: A MAN has reportedly shot a woman, before turning the gun on himself at a McDonalds restaurant in Helensvale this morning.

It’s alleged the man shot the woman in the head, before shooting himself in the stomach.
The man has been rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital, as paramedics continue to perform CPR on the woman at the scene.
She is believed to be in a serious condition.
The McDonalds carpark has been closed off as the area is turned into a crime scene.
Traffic is being diverted around Siganto Drive, with motorists urged to avoid the area.
Translink have also said that bus diversions are in place.
