Man armed with knives storms Brisbane restaurant, terrorises staff

A MAN is on the run after storming a Brisbane restaurant armed with at least two knives and terrorising staff during a frightening hold-up this afternoon.

Police are still searching for the man who is accused of bursting into the Kelvin Grove business on Kelvin Grove Road just after midday.

Allegedly armed with knives, the man is accused of threatening two staff members into handing over a stash of cash.


The employees complied with the man’s demands and he fled the store on foot. Police said he was last seen running towards a nearby university campus.

Thankfully, no one was physically injured during the heist.

Police have saturated the area in the search for the man, who is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s with a solid build.

He was wearing black clothing at the time of the incident, including a black baseball cap and sunglasses.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has seen a man fitting the above description in the area to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
