Man arrested after $10k worth of steroids found on Gold Coast property

A man has been arrested after thousands of dollars worth of performance enhancing drugs were found at an Upper Coomera home yesterday.

Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) executed a search warrant on the property yesterday, uncovering approximately $10,000 worth of steroids.

The drugs were found in various forms.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences, including possessing a dangerous drug, possessing a restricted drug, failing to dispose of a syringe, and contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically and stealing.

He is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on April 26.

Gold Coast MOCS Detective Inspector Glen Donaldson says the use of steroids that haven’t been prescribed by a doctor is illegal and poses a significant health risk.

“Detectives from MOCS will continue to work with the Gold Coast officers to proactively target those involved in the illicit use and supply of dangerous drugs within our community,” D.I. Donaldson said.
