A MAN has been charged with intent to rape after he attempted to abduct a child from a school near Ipswich on Wednesday.
The man, aged in his 50’s, is reported to have entered the grounds of Kruger State School around 11.20am

A man in his 50s has been charged with intent to rape after allegedly attempting to abduct a child from the grounds of a school near Ipswich on Wednesday.
Police say the man entered the grounds of Kruger State School, west of Ipswich, about 11.20am and approached a group of children, who he then threatened to assault.
He is then alleged to have grabbed one of the children by the arm but the child managed to escape.
The man then fled the area.
Police raided a home in the neighbouring suburb of Bellbird Park on Wednesday night, where they arrested a 52-year-old man.
He has been charged with assault with intent to rape, two counts of threatening violence and trespass.
He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
