UPDATE – A 27-year-old man has been charged with a range of offences following several incidents on the Gold Coast this morning.
It is alleged the man failed to stop his vehicle for police when they attempted to intercept it as it was being driven erratically at Paradise Point and Southport around 7am.
Around 8am, the man was located by police parked outside the Southport Courthouse where he allegedly pointed a firearm at close range at one of the officers.

The man was taken into custody without further incident and charged with 13 offences including driving under the influence, possessing dangerous drugs, disqualified driving, unlawful possession of weapons and possessing restricted items.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
EARLIER – A 27-year-old man is in custody after evading police on the Gold Coast this morning.
Around 7am a car was observed driving erratically in Falkinder Avenue at Paradise Point.
Police attempted to intercept the vehicle but were unsuccessful.
Around 8am police again sighted the vehicle allegedly travelling at speed on Thomas Drive in Surfers Paradise.
Police attempted to intercept the vehicle and it again failed to stop continuing on Ferny Avenue.
The vehicle travelled to Southport and was located by police a short time later parked near the Southport Courthouse.
Police approached the vehicle and discovered the man inside was armed with a firearm which he allegedly pointed at close range at one of the officers.
The man was taken into custody without further incident at the scene a short time later.
Investigations are continuing.
