Man arrested after picking up drug delivery from post office

A Tweed Heads man has been charged with importing drugs from overseas through the post.

The 18-year-old was arrested yesterday after going to Tweed Heads Post Office to pick up his delivery.

An investigation was launched earlier this month after 124 grams of MDMA was intercepted by Australian Federal Police in a package sent from the United Kingdom.


Police also raided a home on Semillon Court in Tweed Heads South following the man’s arrest.

Drug paraphernalia and electronic storage devices for Bitcoin transactions were also seized.

The 18-year-old was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with possess marketable quantity unlawful import border control drug and deal with the property proceeds of crime less than $100,000.

He front Tweed Heads Court today where he was granted conditional bail.

He’ll reappear in court on November 19.
