Man charged after woman and child stabbed in domestic incident

UPDATE @ April 26: A man is due to appear in court today after allegedly stabbing a woman and her son during an horrific domestic-violence incident in Sydney.

Emergency crews were called to a unit on Belmore Street in North Parramatta just after midnight on Saturday, following reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, they found a 27-year-old woman and six-year-old child had sustained stab wounds inside the unit.

The pair were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

The woman has since had surgery for internal injuries, however both remain in hospital in a stable condition.

A 31-year-old man has since been charged with two counts of wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder, and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The man has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court later today.

EARLIER @ April 25: A six-year-old boy and a woman have been stabbed in a domestic incident in Sydney overnight.

Emergency crews were called to a unit on Belmore Street in North Parramatta just after midnight, following reports of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, they found a 27-year-old woman and six-year-old child had sustained stab wounds inside the unit.

The pair were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Thankfully both the woman and boy were in a stable condition.

A man fled the scene before emergency services arrived, however the 31-year-old handed himself into police at Parramatta Police Station around 2.00am.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
