Man arrested after woman threatened with knife, robbed at ATM

A man will appear in court today charged with allegedly threatening a woman with a knife during a robbery at Campsie.

About 10.45pm Wednesday 9 September, a 47-year-old woman was using an ATM on Beamish Street, when a man approached her.

The man allegedly threatened the woman with a knife, before she handed over a sum of cash and a mobile phone.

The man allegedly attempted to steal her car before running from the scene.

The woman was treated for a minor cut to her face at Canterbury Hospital.

Officers attached to Campsie Local Area Command attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Earlier this morning (Friday 11 September 2015), police attended a home in Belfield and arrested a 32-year-old man.

He was taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with robbery with wounding, common assault and an outstanding warrant.

The man was refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Friday 11 September 2015).
