Man arrested, another hospitalised after suspected stolen car crash

An 18-year-old has been arrested and a man in his 20s hospitalised after a crash involving a suspected stolen car on the northern Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to Oxford Street in Pimpama just after 3.30 am following reports of the crash.

It’s understood the 18-year-old was throwing bottles at a car nearby a house of someone he knew before the other man came out to chase him off.


A short car chase ensued before the vehicles collided, with the man in his 20s suffering a knee injury.

He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The 18-year-old also sustained a minor arm injury, but he was arrested by police at the scene.

Charges are yet to be laid, with investigations continuing.

It’s understood he knew a woman at the address he first attended.
