Man arrested, charged over fatal crash in country NSW

A man has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death following a fatal crash in country NSW earlier this month.

The crash happened on the New England Highway, 25 kilometres south of Tamworth, at around 3pm on Tuesday 19 July.

Police the 64-year-old man was driving a Peugeot which rolled, trapping its four occupants inside.

A 73-year-old man who had been sitting in the front passenger seat died at the scene.

Police on Wednesday charged the 64-year-old male driver with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear in Tamworth Local Court on 22 August.
