A YOUNG man has been arrested and charged over a wave of violent armed taxi robberies in Sydney.
The 20-year-old is alleged to have robbed nine cab drivers at knifepoint in Ultimo, Glebe and Surry Hills between Wednesday 17 May and Saturday 10 June.
Following investigations by Sydney City Detectives, the 20-year-old man handed himself into officers at Day Street Police Station last night.

He was arrested and charged with three counts of robbery armed with offensive weapon and four counts of aggravated assault with intent to rob and inflict actual bodily harm.
The man was also charged with demanding property with menaces with intent to steal and dishonestly obtain a financial advantage.
The 20-year-old was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
