Man arrested after cops find meth, guns, ammo in NSW home

A man has been charged with a long list of serious offences after police allegedly found a stash of meth, two guns and a stockpile of ammunition during a raid on his home north of Newcastle.

Officers raided the Ford Avenue home in Medowie at around 3pm on Friday and arrested a 35-year-old man who they say is the subject of a Firearms Prohibition Order.

During a search of the home, police allegedly located a shortened rifle, a shotgun, a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine (‘ice’), a replica handgun, ammunition, and a butterfly knife.

The man was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with multiple serious offences, including possessing a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing a shortened and unauthorised firearm.

He was refused bail to appear at Maitland Bail Court today.
