Man arrested following major drug raid on Gold Coast home

A MAN has been arrested and will be extradited to Tasmania tomorrow after police allegedly uncovered drugs and half a million in bitcoin at a home on the Gold Coast yesterday.

The 29-year-old was taken into custody at an Isle of Capri property on Monday morning after detectives from Tasmania Police’s Drug Investigation Services travelled to Queensland.

“The arrest relates to a number of drug importation incidents earlier this year,” Tasmania Police said in a statement.

“Further illicit drugs were seized today during the arrest.”

The man will be extradited from Queensland to Hobart on Wednesday to face drug trafficking and firearms charges.
