Man arrested after going on violent, dangerous rampage in NSW

A man has been arrested and charged after going on a violent rampage in NSW yesterday.

Police say that around 11.30am, a woman was carjacked and had her milk truck stolen by a man at Wellington.

Around 12.00pm, the same man was seen going through property in a shearing shed at Neurea before he got back into the stolen milk truck and fled the scene.

Residents of the property followed the man and witnessed him allegedly run over a sheep on the property before crashing through a boundary fence.

It’s alleged he set fire to the truck before he was apprehended by the two Neurea residents and the property owner.

Police were called to the property, however the man managed to escape and armed himself with an axe from a nearby vehicle.

He threatened the residents before running from the property but was found a short time later by police.

He was arrested after a brief struggle and taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with numerous offences including aggravated carjacking, steal motor vehicle, used weapon to avoid apprehension and resist arrest.

He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today.
