Man arrested in Logan, charged over fatal double shooting

A man has been charged with two counts of murder following a horror double shooting north of Brisbane.

Two men were gunned down outside a unit complex on Lower King Street at Caboolture around 5.30pm on Saturday.

Emergency crews desperately tried to save the pair, aged 23 and 37, but they were pronounced deceased.


Neighbours told police they saw a man leaving the area shortly after the shooting in a Toyota Yaris, with detectives launching a major manhunt.

A 24-year-old Caboolture man was tracked down and arrested at a petrol station in Cornubia, Logan a few hours later.

He has since been charged with two counts of murder, possess shortened firearm, unlawful possession of weapons category A, B or M and authority required to possess explosives.

The man is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The investigation is ongoing.
