Man arrested over alarming social media posts

A MAN has been arrested in Sydney’s Inner West, charged after allegedly making threats on social media.

Police say they were alerted to the threat made at around 7.30am on Saturday.

After following up the report, officers attended a home on Thornley Street at Marrickville around 10am and arrested a 32-year-old man.


He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with use carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

The exact details of the threat remain unclear.

The 32-year-old has was granted conditional bail to appear in Newtown Local Court on 27 October.
