A young man has been taken into custody at a home in Logan after a teenage girl was allegedly stabbed at a shopping centre on the Sunshine Coast earlier this week.
The 16-year-old girl was attempting to break up a fight between an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old male at the centre in Buddina on Monday afternoon when she was allegedly stabbed.
“Police will allege two males known to each other, aged 18 and 17, were involved in a physical altercation,” Qld Police said.

“A 16-year-old girl attempted to intervene which resulted in the 18-year-old man allegedly stabbing her”.
The teenage girl was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital for treatment to a significant laceration from her chin to ear.
The 18-year-old then fled the shopping centre at remained at large until he was taken into custody at a home on Blaxland Street in Woodridge just after midday.
He is currently assisting police with inquiries and no charges have been laid at this stage.
