Man arrested over multiple sexual assaults on the Gold Coast

A man has been arrested over two sexual assault incidents on the southern Gold Coast.

The 22-year-old was arrested at Tweed Heads today, as a result of a Queensland arrest warrant.

Police will allege that the man sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman along the footpath on Pacific Parade, Bilinga, at 8.00am on December 10.

The woman screamed, prompting the man fled on foot down Mills Street.

It will also be alleged that around 7.00am on December 17, a 27-year-old was walking her dog towards on Miles Street, Kirra, when she was also sexually assaulted.

She managed to push the man off her, before he fled along Musgrave Street.

Following both incidents being reported to police yesterday, a 22-year-old Bilambil Heights man was arrested by New South Wales Police at Tweed Heads today.

He is scheduled to appear at Tweed Heads Magistrates Court tomorrow, where Gold Coast detectives will seek his extradition to the Gold Coast.

Police are also looking for anyone who may have also been assaulted in the vicinity of the Bilinga or Coolangatta areas over the past two months, to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
