Former bikie accused of bashing ex-partner to death charged with murder of Gold Coast father

UPDATE : FORMER Bandidos bikie Lionel Patea is one of two men who have been charged with the murder of missing father Greg Dufty.

The 24-year-old, who was already in custody over the horrifying bashing death of his ex-partner Tara Brown, is set to face Southport Magistrates Court on November 11.

Police say the 24-year-old’s bikie gang affiliation is not connected to the alleged crime.

A 27-year-old from New Zealand who was also arrested will be extradited on Tuesday, before facing court on Wednesday.

Mr Dufty has not been seen since Monday July 6, when he left his ex-partners Ashmore home.

The 37-year-old’s rented Mazda ute was later found abandoned in the car park of nearby Ashmore Steak and Seafood Restaurant.

Police have long suspected Mr Dufty met with foul play.

EARLIER : POLICE have arrested and charged two men with the murder of Gold Coast father Greg Dufty.

Mr Dufty has not been seen since Monday July 6, when he left his ex-partners Ashmore home.

A 24-year-old man, who was already in custody, will face Southport Magistrates Court on November 11.

A New Zealand man is expected to be extradited from Auckland and will face court upon his arrival in Australia.

In a press conference this afternoon, police said the men charged with killing Greg Dufty are linked to Gold Coast bikie gangs.
