Man arrested over stabbing in Sydney

A man has been arrested after another man was stabbed in Sydney’s west.

Police say two men, aged 50 and 21, got into an argument outside a home in Auburn before 2:00pm on Tuesday.

During the fight the 50-year-old man ended up with a 10cm stab wound to his cheek from a knife.

Both men walked inside the house together and a short time later the 21-year-old allegedly lashed out with the knife again, cutting him on the head.

The younger man left before returning a short time later.  The other people who lived there refused to let him in, eventually calling Police.

Both men were taken to Auburn Police Station where they were assessed by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

The 50-year-old man was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The 21-year-old man was admitted to a mental health facility for assessment.

Once released, he is expected to be charged over the incident.
