Man arrested after women shot, stabbed in the neck in Melbourne home

A MAN has been arrested after a woman was shot and another stabbed in the neck at a house in Melbourne.

It’s understood the two women were attacked at a home on Knightsbridge Drive in the suburb of Tarneit, around 25km west of Melbourne’s CBD, on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the address at around 3.15pm.

In a statement, Victoria Police said officers arrived at the house to find a young woman believed to be aged in her 20s with a suspected gunshot wound to her hand.

A second woman, believed to be aged in her 40s or 50s, was found with a stab wound to her neck.

Both women were treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital for treatment.

At this stage, their condition and relationship with each other are not known.

Police have confirmed a man in his 30s was arrested at the house and is assisting police with their enquires.

It was not known at the time of writing if the man is known to the women.

The Knightsbridge Drive home has been declared a crime scene and is crawling with forensic police.

Detectives are at the scene, investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
