Motorcyclist assaulted on the side of the road in Logan

A middle-aged man has been assaulted in an overnight attack on the side of the road in Logan.

The 50 year old man was on a motorbike and told police he was travelling along Waterford-Tamborine Road in Yarrabilba when a light coloured sedan came up very close behind him.

It’s alleged he pulled over to let a tailgater pass, but the car also pulled over and a passenger got out of the back seat and came over to the man.

The passenger allegedly assaulted the motorbike rider and made off with two bags from the motorcycle, leaving him on the side of the road.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment of a serious abdomen injury.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who might have travelled the Waterford-Tamborine Road around 12.45am Thursday morning, or might have dash cam from the area.
