Man assaulted with schooner glass at Kingscliff hotel

A MAN has been hospitalised with facial injuries after being assaulted with a schooner glass at a hotel in Kingscliff overnight.

Police said the 22-year-old man was in a gaming room at a hotel on Marine Parade when he was approached by a woman.

“The woman began to argue with the man and he tried to move away,” police said in a statement.

The woman, who is not believed to be known to the man, continued to follow him and an argument ensued.

Another man then intervened and assaulted the 22-year-old man with a schooner glass.

He was taken to Tweed Heads District Hospital in a stable condition, suffering facial injuries.

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.
