Man assisting police after 20yo woman allegedly abducted in Qld
A man is assisting police after a young woman was allegedly abducted from her home in far north Queensland.
Police launched a major search for the 20-year-old after she went missing from her home in Port Douglas around midnight on Tuesday.
“Police hold concerns for her safety and believe she may be in the company of a man aged in his mid-twenties, who may be holding her against her will,” police said in a public appeal.
Around 7.30pm last night, following a major manhunt involving the dog squad and a police helicopter, officers found the missing woman at the scene of a crash site.
“Police have located the woman missing from Port Douglas and she is now safe,” police said in a statement.
The man, who police warned the public not to approach, was found a few hours later in the Smithfield area after he ran from the crash scene.
