Man, 68, charged with murdering his wife in their Brisbane home

UPDATE 5:00 PM | A 68-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his wife to death in a frenzied attack inside their suburban Brisbane home.

Police were called to the couple’s Remick Street home in Stafford Heights at around 9.30 on Saturday morning.

They arrived to find a 69-year-old woman deceased inside the home. Police say she’d sustained “multiple stab wounds”.

The woman’s 68-year-old husband was arrested at the scene and taken to the local police station where he spent most of the day being questioned by homicide detectives.

Police released a statement just before 5pm, confirming the man had been charged with one count of murder.

He is due to front the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 1.
