A man has been charged after allegedly attacking another man with an axe in a horror road rage attack in Sydney’s north west.
The violent scenes unfolded about 11.30am yesterday, when a Mercedes Benz and Honda Accord pulled up in traffic near the intersection of Pennant Hills Road in Thornleigh.
Police said the Mercedes driver, a 41-year-old man, allegedly got out of his vehicle and confronted a 46-year-old man driving the Honda before the pair became involved in an altercation.

“It’s further alleged the Mercedes driver returned to his vehicle and produced a small axe, before striking the Honda driver on the head several times and driving away.”
The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.
The driver of the Mercedes was arrested a short time later and taken to Hornsby Police Station, where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, armed with intent commit indictable offence and affray.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 20 January 2021.
Police said the men are not believed to be known to each other.
