Man attacked with hammer, woman injured in violent domestic
Police are investigating after a man and woman were injured during a violent domestic incident in Fairfield East last night.
About 11pm, emergency services were called to a home on Hamilton Road, following reports that a man had been attacked with a hammer.
Police from Fairfield Local Area Command have been told a 55-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man became involved in an argument over a hammer.
During the altercation, the woman allegedly produced a knife sharpener and assaulted the man in the hand and forearm.
The woman suffered a laceration to the back of her head.
A vehicle at the location was also damaged during the incident.
Both were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both parties are currently assisting police with inquiries.
