Man attacked with machete in his own home

A man has escaped with just minor injuries, despite being attacked in his own home, by a machete-wielding man.

Police found the 64-year-old with injuries to his left arm, after being called to the Beenleigh property around 9pm on Saturday.

“Investigations suggest a man known to the occupant attended the address, assaulted the man with the machete causing an injury to his left arm,” Police said in a statement.

The victim was taken from his Chapman Drive home for treatment in the Princess Alexandria Hospital.

“A man was located at a Mount Warren Park address a short time later and arrested,” according to Police.

“The 44-year-old man has been charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

“He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow.”
