Man bashed over the head with spirit level outside Sydney home
A man has allegedly been beaten over the head with a builder’s spirit level outside a house in Sydney’s southwest.
Police said the chaotic scenes played out on the front porch of a house in Hood Street at Yagoona yesterday afternoon.
It’s understood a 48-year-old man drove to the house and rang the doorbell but no one answered.
Police said the 41-year-old male resident arrived home a short time later and found the older man standing on his front porch.
The pair allegedly became embroiled in a heated argument and had to be separated by a number of other people at the home.
Police allege the 41-year-old resident then returned to his vehicle and armed himself with a 60cm aluminium builder’s level.
Returning to the porch, the younger man allegedly struck the 48-year-old over the head with the level, leaving him with a significant laceration.
The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene before being conveyed to Liverpool Hospital.
The 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
