Man bashed in violent armed robbery at Biggera Waters fast-food store

A Gold Coast fast-food store employee has been injured in a violent armed robbery at a shopping centre at Biggera Waters.

The shocking attack happened just after 8.20pm last night, when two fast-food store staff members spotted a man on the roof of their premises acting suspiciously.

Police said the pair called out for the man to come down and when he did, he and two other males confronted the employee demanding his personal property.

When the employee refused, one of the males produced a knife.

The man was then punched to the ground and assaulted by the group who stole his mobile phone before fleeing.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to facial injuries.

Investigations are ongoing.
