Man bitten by police dog during standoff at NSW home
Police are waiting to interview a man who is in hospital after being bitten by a police dog during a standoff at Raymond Terrace overnight.
Police say officers were called to home about 5pm yesterday, responding to reports a man had allegedly breached an AVO.
The 32-year-old man refused to come out of the house with police negotiations commencing.
About 7.30pm the man was arrested, with the assistance of a Police Dog, when he ran from the building.
The man was taken to John Hunter Hospital where he is being treated for an injury to his left forearm, sustained when he was bitten by the Police Dog during the arrest.
Police seized a number of knives and swords from the premises.
The man has not yet been interviewed with charges pending.
