POLICE have been left shocked after a man was busted driving almost five times over the legal alcohol limit with a child on his lap.
An officer on a motorbike allegedly spotted the man driving along Bourke Street in Waterloo with a 10-year-old boy on his lap holding the steering wheel, about 3.40pm yesterday.
An eight-year-old girl was also seated in the back seat of the car.

The officer attempted to pull the car over, however the driver, a 45-year-old man, failed to stop and continued driving before becoming stuck in traffic.
The policeman tried to arrest the man, however he became aggressive, forcing the officer to call for assistance.
The man was finally taken into custody and transported to Redfern Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis which supplied a reading of 0.248.
He was charged with drive manner dangerous to the public, high-range drink-driving, and resist arrest.
He is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 16 October.
