Man busted with 40kg of cannabis in bag at Central Railway Station

Police have charged a man after more than 40kg of cannabis was seized from baggage at Central Railway Station yesterday.

Officers from the Police Transport Command stopped and spoke to a passenger about 10.30am (Thursday 16 July 2015) after he arrived on a train from Melbourne.

During a search of the man’s two suitcases, police allegedly located 42.8kgs of cannabis.


The drugs have an estimated potential street value of $350,000.

The 28-year-old Queensland man was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drugs (commercial quantity).

He’s been bail refused to appear at Central Local Court today (Friday 17 July 2015).
