A man has been charged with a string off drug and weapons offences after police raided his Gold Coast unit and made a surprise discovery.
Officers executed a search warrant on the Gold Coast Highway apartment in Surfers Paradise just before 10.00am today.
During the raid, they allegedly found a firearm in a safe and another in a cupboard.

“Detectives also allegedly located drugs including amphetamines, GHB and cannabis along with suspected stolen property and approximately $12,000 cash,” Queensland police said.
A 34-year-old Southport man has been charged with five counts of possession of a dangerous drug and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.
He was also hit with one count each of possess tainted property, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act, possession of a utensil and possession of a restricted drug.
The man is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Police say investigations are ongoing.
