A DRUNKEN man’s dangerous joy-ride has come to an end after he was allegedly caught driving through a Gold Coast suburb while almost six times over the legal alcohol limit.
Police charged the 51-year-old with high range drink driving after he was intercepted at Pacific Pines around 11.20am on Tuesday.
It’s alleged the driver recorded a Blood Alcohol Concentration level of 0.321 per cent when he was stopped on Pitcairn Way.

It comes just days after police praised Gold Coast drivers for low drink driving rates.
The Pacific Pines man was charged with one count of driving under the influence of liquor and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 8.
