A MAN has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking after he was allegedly caught with a quarter of a million dollars worth of crystal meth on a cruise ship in Tasmania.
Police were drug detection dogs were sweeping the Spirit of Tasmania dock at Devonport, conducting random passenger screenings when they made the bust on Saturday morning.
The 46-year-old man was allegedly found with $226,000 worth of meth concealed in his clothing around 6.30am.

Detective Inspector Kate Chambers told The Advocate the bust took approximately 2260 ‘deals’ off the street.
The passenger was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled substance.
He is due to appear in Devonport Magistrates Court.
