A 35-year-old man has been charged over the violent robbery of a 23-year-old man in Surfers Paradise on Friday night.
The robbery occurred around 9.30pm, when the younger man was walking along Cypress Avenue.
Police said the older man threatened the 23-year-old with a knife before stealing his personal items and running off.

Two friends of the victim gave chase to the thief, however an altercation broke out, resulting in the duo receiving cuts to their hands and arms.
Following investigations, police charged a 35-year-old Surfers Paradise with one count of armed robbery.
He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on April 18.
