Man charged after more than 50 images of boys found on ‘lost’ mobile phone

A man has been charged and is due to face court today after more than 50 images of boys in sexually suggestive manners were found on the man’s mobile phone after he left it in a court room.

Police say that on Wednesday 22 June, the man’s mobile was found in a WA District Court and a staff member concerned about content found on the phone contacted police.

Following investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s Maylands home where they seized documents and electronic storage devices.

Analysis of the devices allegedly identified approximately 50 images of boys in sexually suggestive manners.

The man has been charged with Possession of Child Exploitation Material. The maximum penalty for this offence is seven years imprisonment.
