Man charged after allegedly setting fire to his Pimpama home
A Gold Coast man has been charged with arson, after he allegedly set alight his Pimpama home on Thursday morning.
The blaze erupted at a house on Brampton Court just after 7.30am, forcing the roof of the home to cave in.
Neighbours were evacuated as a precaution, but thankfully no other properties were damaged, and no one was injured.
Police investigations indicate that the fire started in the garage, destroying a 2000 Suburu Impreza sedan before spreading to the rest of the dwelling.
This morning, detectives arrested a 33-year-old Pimpama man and charged him with one count of arson.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday, September 21.
