Man charged after car chase through Brisbane’s South

A man has been charged with multiple offences after leading police through a wild chase on Brisbane’s southside.

Late last night officers were contacted by a member of the public who reported dangerous driving in the suburb of Wishart.

Police went to the area where they followed a Mercedes Benz 320E, which they allege was stolen from a business at Murrarie on March 10.

An unmarked police vehicle activated their lights and sirens, trying to make the driver of the Mercedes Benz pull over but the driver sped away from police down the wrong side of the road.

The driver then crashed the car into a wooden bollard and was arrested by officers.

A 36-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with one count each of dangerous driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, failing to stop motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, two counts of obstructing police and three counts of stealing.

He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
